Over Spring Break our Stratford Winter Guard competed at the CWEA Championships! This is the culminating event of their winter guard season that began in November.
With the help of Mr. Swetckie and teachers and staff at College Park middle school, the guard was able to have an actual rehearsal space for the entire season! This can be the hardest thing for these groups as they perform in gyms, and it can be hard to get into a space like that during their season! Thank you to Dr. Burnette and our Stratford Athletics for allowing some time in our own gym as they prepared for Championships!
The students managed to have a breakout season as this is the first time Stratford has competed in the winter season since 2016.
During the season the guard was awarded 1st place at their premiere performance at Colleton County. Their score also awarded them a promotion from the Scholastic Regional A class to the Scholastic AAA class.
Their 2nd contest they placed 3rd in their class at River Bluff.
Their 3rd contest they placed 1st in their class at Indian Land.
We are proud of their performance at CWEA Championships where they placed 3rd and were awarded the Bronze Medal for this year! Congratulations to our Winter Guard students!

Spring has sprung! BCSD Spring Break runs April 1-5. All students return to school on April 8.

Our school social workers do a tremendous job supporting our students! The pearls of wisdom they provide to our school communities are invaluable. Be sure to thank a school social worker this week for the difference they make in BCSD! #SSWWeek2024 #makingapositivedifference

Happy Friday! We wanted to give a special shout out to Claire Ansell, the owner of Business Powerhouse and business consultant specialist, for coming to speak to our students. Claire's visit, which took place on Monday, February 26th, was truly inspiring for all who attended.
During the session, Claire led an engaging discussion centered around the theme of career readiness through identifying one's unique abilities or "superpowers." Her insights provided invaluable guidance to our students, empowering them to recognize and leverage their strengths as they embark on their professional journeys.

Juniors and Seniors: Mark your calendars!! Stay tuned for more information!
